Preventing Social Isolation within the LGBT+ Community

About our cause
Club F.O.D is a registered charity based in Reading, Berkshire, that aims to prevent social isolation with the LGBT+ Community and where possible, reduce it where it already exists. We do this though:
Organising regular dedicated LGBT+ Nights that provide a safe-space for the LGBT+ community to socialise where no dedicated bars exist. We plan to extend these event around the UK. We proudly host the only LGBT+ night in Berkshire at The Blagrave Arms. Alongside these events we raise money for our Fund of Diversity which is distributed to local projects, causes and charities that benefit the LGBT+ Community.
Producing our own live and re-recorded content on F.O.D TV and Radio F.O.D: launched during the pandemic and continuing out of lockdown
Organise community events outside of licensed venues such as coffee clubs, Book Clubs, Gardening Groups and Camping weekends. In the absence of Pride Festivals in 2020, we launched a Pink Picnic where people could socially distance.
We are launching a LGBT+ Befriending Service:
• Tea-friending - A weekly or fortnightly visit
• E-friending – A weekly or fortnightly phone call
The service is for:
• Those who are LGBT+ who are over 50 and are isolated and have Limited Social Connections
• Those who are LGBT+ and housebound (no age restrictions) and have Limited Social Connections
We are also launching a LGBT+ Youth Club.
Your support will help us continue to offer and even expand our services: just by playing the lottery!
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Mr Jamie Wake, CEO, Club F.O.D
