About our cause
Four Pillars is an LGBT+ charity whose aim is to support the community with issues surrounding matters of mental, emotional, physical and sexual health. Four Pillars is the only LGBT+ Hub in the North East, providing a drop-in service, free contraceptives and sanitary products, advice and information, support services, as well as a safe and welcoming environment in which to relax and socialise. Our current setup allows us to look after a person’s initial support needs, and from there we can establish a relationship and break down barriers. Alongside the hub, we also offer support & social group's and offer 1-2-1 support service to allow individuals to open up and share sometimes life changing news with us privately. We aim to take our work out to the community, providing informational stalls and educational workshops for those wanting to learn more about LGBT+ issues.
We need your help so we can continue to offer and even expand our service!
For instance; one-to-one’s are often essential to our service users. Offering crisis support, interventions and suicide prevention when someone needs it most. It costs around £15 per hour to offer one-to-ones which help save the lives of many LGBT+ individuals, some of whom have suffered abuse/rape/violence/distress.
Our LGBT+ Hub is open 5 days a week and enables members in our community to come in, get advice, information and support. It costs nearly £3,000 per month to keep the Hub open.
Four Pillars offers various support & social groups throughout the month. These groups are often a lifeline to many members and enables individuals to meet others, grow confidence, reduce isolation, improve mental health. On average it costs around £120 per month to run one group.
Your contributions here help go towards these running costs and more, whilst giving you the opportunity to win some big cash prizes
Thank you for your support and good luck!
Yours sincerely,
Four Pillars
