About our cause
Clothes swaps are a great way to help each other and save clothes going to landfill. Our swaps create a safe space for LGBTQ+ people to explore and celebrate their style and gender identity.
The Trans Support Hub started when our founder, Jamie, had his pre-transition clothes to part with. Leaving them with the charity shop was too impersonal, his old clothes were sentimental. Jamie needed to get rid of them but thought swapping them would be better, at least he'd get to see his clothes go to a good home.
Over three years later they've become a habit that I don't think any of us could quit, even if we wanted to!
We run regular swaps in Leeds, Manchester, Fife and soon we'll be in York too.
And we're working on other projects too like a business directory, clothes making workshops, designing specialist trans items.
This is why we need your help!
Your support helps cover costs such as travel and advertising expenses.
Thank you for your support and good luck! We have our fingers and toes crossed for you!
Yours sincerely,
Jamie, Luce and Sarah
P.s. When we say 'Trans' we mean anybody who is gender variant, gender incongruent, intersex and transgender people.
